Today in Black History

In 1904, Mary McLeod Bethune, educator, civil rights leader, and advisor to U.S. presidents, opened the Daytona Normal and Industrial School with $1.54. Later re-named Bethune -Cookman College, the school is located  in Daytona Beach, Florida.
