Dwight David Eisenhower: The Last REAL Republican President

President Dwight D. Eisenhower (R: 1953-1961) presided over a booming middle-class focused economy with a top income tax rate of 90%, was responsible for the tax-payer funded and government built interstate highway system (initally designed for the U.S. to have the ability to quickly move missles into place), decried the growing military industrial complex, used federal power to protect and enforce then-current civil rights laws, oversaw the growth of the space race, and realized the value of social programs such as Social Security and the GI Bill. He was also the last Republican president to balance the U.S. budget.

But this isn’t the 1950s that the current teabagger controlled Republicans want to “go back to”…think about it.
