Chuck Brown, known as the “Godfather of Go-Go,” played with Jerry Butler and The Earls of Rhythm in the early 1960s, and later joined Latin-American band Los Latinos. February 20th, Today in Black History: Belita Karen Woods

Belita Karen Woods was a lead singer of the late 1970s R&B group, Brainstorm. She also performed with Parliament-Funkadelic for two decades, beginning in 1992.  She died on May 14, 2012.

February 19th, Today in Black History: Ronnie Montrose
