Today in Black History: Nat Turner

Nat Turner, revolutionary freedom-fighter, began his famous slave revolt in Southampton County, VA, on this date in 1831. During the three-day revolt, Turner and other slaves killed around 60 whites. Turner started with a few trusted fellow slaves. The rebels traveled from house to house, freeing slaves and killing the white people they found. The
