Today in Black History: Oscar James Dunn

Oscar James Dunn, Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana, died unexpectedly while trying to gain control of the state government on this date in 1871. It is believed by many that Dunn fell victim to poisoning. He was succeeded by P. B. S. Pinchback.
