On the 87th anniversary of her birth, Althea Gibson was honored in a very special Google Doodle. The animation shows Gibson hitting a forehand and overhead on a court with a baseline that spells “google.” Gibson has her place in history and hearts as a sports pioneer who broke the color barrier in tennis in the 1950s.
